The image above represents the inflow rate. To calculate the inflow rate, six essential parameters are needed, and these parameters are Net Application Depth (Fn), Length of Border Strip (L), Lag Time (TL), Opportunity Time (Tn) and Application Efficiency (E).
The formula for calculating the inflow rate:
Qn = 1.67E-3 . Fn . L / (Tn – TL) E
Where:
Qn = Inflow Rate
Fn = Net Application Depth
L = Length of Border Strip
TLÂ = Lag Time
Tn = Opportunity Time
E = Application Efficiency
Let’s solve an example;
Find the inflow rate when the net applicaiton depth is 22, the length of border strip is 14, the lag time is 10, the opportunity time is 12 and the application efficiency is 17.
This implies that;
Fn = Net Application Depth = 22
L = Length of Border Strip = 14
TL = Lag Time = 10
Tn = Opportunity Time = 12
E = Application Efficiency = 17
Qn = 1.67E-3 . Fn . L / (Tn – TL) E
Qn = 1.67E-3 (22) (14) / (12 – 10)17
That is, Qn = 0.51436 / (2)17
Qn = 0.51436 / 34
Qn = 0.0151
Therefore, the inflow rate is 0.0151.
